What do you enjoy most about your work?
For me, the best part of being a therapist is getting to know each individual client, building a therapeutic relationship, and bearing witness to their growth and healing. Being vulnerable can be a challenge, so it is a privilege to watch clients rediscover themselves, learn to identify their patterns, and prioritize their wellbeing.
What motivates you to do what you do?
My clients! Seeing the folks I work with put time, effort, and intention into their healing, self care, and growth is so motivating and rewarding. We live in a crazy world, and I am a firm believer that everyone deserves a safe, welcoming space to sort through what they’re experiencing.
Background
After completing my Bachelor’s degree in psychology, I obtained my Master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan. During my training, I worked at a university counseling center and provided individual therapy and facilitated an LGBTQIA2S+ support group. My therapeutic approach to working with clients is trauma-informed, consent-based, affirming, and person-centered. This approach ensures all clients feel empowered and in control of their therapy journey. My clients and I collaborate to create a safe space where they can be their most authentic selves and embrace vulnerability while taking steps towards healing. I use an integrative approach, incorporating aspects of CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, mindfulness, and creativity to best support my clients' needs.
I am particularly interested in working with LGBTQIA2S+ identifying folks, neurodivergence, and folks dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD, and burnout. With that said, I see all sorts of clients with a wide array of identities, experiences, and presenting concerns, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you think we might be a good fit! Everyone deserves a positive, affirming, and approachable therapy experience, and I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
